The recipients of the Department of Biological Sciences annual prizes have been announced. The awardees were selected based on faculty and staff nominations and followed by evaluation by the graduate committee. Please find the detailed descriptions of the prizes below:
John S. Newberry Prize: Awarded to the graduate student in the Department who, in the opinion of the faculty, is the “most promising student of the year in the field of vertebrate zoology.”
Awardee: Carla Hoge
Peter Sajovic Memorial Prize: Awarded to a graduate student doing outstanding work in biology.
Awardees: Yimeng Fang and Lizhi Liu
James Howard McGregor Award: Awarded to the graduate student in the Department who, in the opinion of the faculty, “shows unusual promise as a teacher of zoology.”
Awardees: Grace Przybyl and Timothy Chang
