The 2024 Bridges and Sturtevant Prize for outstanding research was awarded to three graduating students in the Department of Biological Sciences:
- Avi Adler worked in Erin Barnhart's lab on "Parkin Regulates Mitochondrial Morphology in aged Drosophila Neurons"
- Ashley Liang worked in Sam Sternberg's lab on "Engineering PAM Stringent Type I-F QCascade Variants for Mammalian Gene Editing".
- Simon Ogundare worked in Ishmail Abdus-Saboor's and Christine Denny's labs on "Investigating the impact of depressive state on the trajectories of inherent nociception".
