Title: On our recent studies on epigenetic inheritance and Onco-histone mutations in pediatric glioma
Abstract: The first major goal of my laboratory is to determine how chromatin states are inherited during S phase of the cell cycle. In recent years, we have developed the eSPAN method and applied it to study the transfer of parental histones, which carry epigenetic modifications that need to be transmitted to the daughter cells, to replicating DNA strands. We found that several replisome components function as “histone chaperones” for parental histone transfer. Furthermore, factors involved in this process are important for epigenetic inheritance, stem cell differentiation and silencing of transposable elements.
