Title: Can metabolism be exploited for improved cancer therapy

Abstract: Our laboratory investigates responses to changes in oxygen availability, as well as cancer cell adaptations to microenvironmental stresses that significantly contribute to advanced disease. Solid tumors frequently develop areas subjected to hypoxia and growth factor/nutrient deprivation, due to vascular insufficiency. I will discuss how this influences tumor progression.
