Title: Hypothalamic Evolution and Regeneration Suppressors

Abstract: Recent technological upsurge has revolutionized our ability to systematically analyze the diversity and evolution of cell types. In this talk, I will discuss the type of insights that may be gained from such comparisons. We will delve into questions such as: How did neurons controlling behaviors like thirst and hunger evolve? How do different cell types coordinate to regenerate missing tissues after injury while warding off the threats of cancer? Through addressing these questions, we aim to shed light on the basic principles that shape life from the cellular level.
