Full Research Description
I graduated from Brandeis University in 2021 with a BS/MS degree in biology. I also minored in philosophy and health policy analysis. At Brandeis, I conducted research with Dr. James E. Haber on DNA mismatch repair and recombination in meiosis using budding yeasts. Specifically, we looked at how meiosis-specific recombinase Dmc1 functions differently from Rad51, and how Dmc1 integrates with the mismatch repair protein Msh2 during meiosis. Moving forward, I hope to continue researching the maintenance of genome integrity and how the instability might lead to cancer.
