Full Research Description
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a BA in Biology.
After graduating I worked in Dr. Greta Binford’s lab at Lewis & Clark focusing on molecular evolution of spider venom, with a specific interest in Sicariidae and their close relatives. Next, I transitioned to the lab of Dr. Fred Robinson at Oregon Health & Science University where I used electron microscopy to elucidate the role of myotubularin-related protein 5 in radial sorting and peripheral axon myelination. Through this work I found a passion for neuroscience which I brought into my next position in Dr. Alex Nechiporuk’s lab at OHSU studying neurodevelopment in Zebrafish.
