Full Research Description

Originally from Connecticut, I graduated from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio with a B.A. in Neuroscience in 2021. My undergraduate research in the lab of Dr. Sarah Petersen focused on identifying the genes that are critical to peripheral nerve patterning in zebrafish using a computational approach. I was particularly interested in characterizing the ways in which developing Schwann cells and neurons interact with each other and with cues from the nerve environment to establish a properly functioning nervous system. At Columbia, I am excited to continue exploring the genetic and molecular mechanisms driving neurodevelopment.
