Full Research Description

Originally from Miami, I graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry from FIU in the spring of 2020. While at FIU, I joined Dr. Yuan Liu and her research lab in their exploration of DNA base excision repair (BER) and its effect on trinucleotide repeat disorders. I later began working with Dr. Francisco A. Fernandez-Lima’s research group, where I learned about mass spectrometry (MS) and ion mobility spectrometry (IMS). In Dr. Lima’s lab, I conducted research into proteomic sequencing for exploring complex biological samples.

As a Ph.D. student, I am eager to build on my past experiences to investigate unique biological systems using novel instrumentation and methodology. For more details, you might find me running in a nearby park or trying to get free food at events around campus.
