Full Research Description:

I attended SUNY Old Westbury from 2011-2015. After I graduated I spent 2 years as a research technician at Mount Sinai Hospital in Dr. Christoph Beuttner’s lab. The focus of the lab’s research was on understanding the neural mechanisms involved in metabolism. During my time there, I gained quite a lot of experience with rodent surgery, optogenetics, and chemogenetics in both mice and rats.

I am fascinated by many aspects of neuroscience. I am currently interested in the neural mechanisms involved in depression, learning, memory, reward and drug addiction. Many research areas in neuroscience fascinate me and I hope to determine what area I enjoy exploring the most during my time at Columbia University.
