Full Research Description:

I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Hong Kong, received a B.S. degree in Molecular Biology & Biotechnology in 2019. My undergraduate research focused on long non-coding RNAs in hepatocellular carcinoma. Specifically, I discovered the tumor-suppressing effect of a newly-identified long non-coding RNA on cell lines and mouse model, then studied the molecular mechanism of its function by finding out its downstream target genes and protein partners.

During my PhD studies at Columbia University, I plan to continue my research in cancer biology. I am interested in applying multi-omic assays and single cell techniques to dissect the intricate gene regulatory networks underlying cancer development. Meanwhile, I am also looking for an in-depth training in bioinformatics and computational biology. I hope the combination of experiments and computation could maximize the potential of my research to help cancer patients.
