I joined Laura Landweber's lab in 2016. I am interested in the evolution of exaggerated genome rearrangement patterns in ciliate cells. With the convenience of working in NYC, I was able to collect data from various cutting-edge sequencing platforms. I interpret the data by bioinformatic tools, trying to answer questions by comparative genomics. I also work on bench to culture my pet ciliate cells and do experiments to validate interesting findings from my computational analysis.
Prior to joining Biology PhD program, I studied in Biotechnology MA program in Columbia University. I got my BS in Biological Sciences from Peking University, China.
