Full Research Description

I grew up in a small and a beautiful city in China called Xuzhou. Then I went to the US for my undergraduate degree in UCLA. I worked in Dr. Karen Lyons' lab studying the development of murine tendon and obtained my degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics in 2016.

The research experience in UCLA helped me finally make my decision to pursue a PhD in biology, mainly for the satisfaction of my curiosity. I am interested in gene regulation and cell signaling. After four years on the west coast, I am really excited to be living in New York for a change. I think Columbia could offer me many research and academic opportunities and I am eager to find out how Columbia will change me as a person.

Outside of lab, I like watching movies, traveling, sailing and running if I have free time.
